ABOUT
Kat
I have often been called a “Renaissance woman” by teachers growing up. My passion for creativity in design, physics, technology, marketing, and many other fields gives me a unique perspective on innovation.
I discovered my current major, Emergent Digital Practices, when trying to find a way to pursue both design and technology. Mechanical Engineering lacked the creative freedom I wanted, and Design did not have the scientific aspect I craved.
In high school, I was the coach of my school’s robotics team. I enjoyed figuring out how things work and finding new ways to incorporate different forms of technology. One of the challenges I encountered in robotics was developing an AI (Artificial Intelligence) system to detect objects. This experience has helped me understand the basics of AI and some of its uses in creative problem-solving.
My goal is to continue to adapt new technologies to grow the design field. My natural inclination towards all things artsy, like calligraphy, typography, embroidery, painting, drawing, ceramics, video editing, game making, and dancing, has made aesthetics and creativity a long-term passion, despite the variability of the outlet.
I plan to integrate new technology and design to expand the possibilities of conveying brand identity.
